‘Lilith’ is a video piece based on the eponymous figure in Jewish mythology. Believed to be the Biblical Adam’s first wife, she left Eden and her husband because she refused to become subservient to him, thus acquiring tinges of a succubus, a femme fatale in the Biblical mythology.
The narrative takes place from a man’s perspective – the Adam figure – reminiscing about his first love. Having created an idealized memory of his Lilith, he desperately attempts to retain her in his mind’s eye as a charming and seductive woman, constantly conforming to his gaze. However, memory deceives, and soon hints of a vision gone awry begin to seep through his recollections. In the end, he is forced to confront and strip down his embellished fantasy. By remembering, he sees his first love as a mortal, culpable being – not the goddess he had gilded through time
